Windows at the Immigration Service were smashed and a total of nine vehicles in several different districts were torched during the night in Copenhagen.
The first indication of vandalism came just after midnight when eight windows at the Immigration Service on Ryesgade in Østerbro were smashed, and red paint was lobbed at the building.
A couple of hours later police received reports of burning vehicles – two of which are owned by the DONG Energy company. A total of nine vehicles were torched across the city, according to Police Spokesman Henrik Suhr, who adds that in some cases it is possible that one vehicle was torched but fire spread to other vehicles.
Suhr says it is not clear whether that the vandalism was at all connected to the COP15 Climate Summit, which enters its second and final week today.
German activists have planned a demonstration today against DONG Energy.
