COP15: CJA spokeswomen released

Stine Gry Jonassen and Tannie Nyboe – both spokeswomen for Climate Justice Action who were remanded in custody for a week following a COP15 demonstration last Wednesday, have been released from detention a day early.

Both were charged with inciting violence by trying to get demonstrators to press through police lines in order to reach the fence surrounding the Bella Center.

It is unclear why the two have been released early.

“We feel that this has been an attempt to silence Climate Justice Action and other critical voices,” writes Stine Gry Jonassen of the detentions.
