Repression COP15: Solidarity in hamburg
Hello dear strugglers for the anticapitalist climate,
as you probably heard, in copenhagen the so called COP15 summit (Climate summit) is taking place these days. For protest against them several coalitions made call outs and mobilized, f.e. http://nevertrustacop.org
As it is usual for such events, the state (in this case denmark) is ready for struggle and they formed their concept of repression with several new laws.
Beneath that also well known limits for the freedom of movement took place as the schengen agreement was suspended and the cops were gathered for the state.
This attempts seem to be quite sucessful at this summit. In the preperation activists were criminalized and intimidated with raids, controls and preventive arrests. In the legal demonstrations mass-arrests took place in a number of new standart in denmark. This leaded to criminalisation and partly sucessfull split of good and bad protestors. The non-solidarity of some parts of the protests strengthened the sucess of the police strategy.
At saturday there had been over 900 people arrested and some taken for trials, which leads to arrests at least to the 4th of january. One of them is a comrade from hamburg.
We are not accepting the repression and we will not let this non-acceptable system without response.
Our need is to scream against the powerlessness faced with state practiced violence and to show our comrades that we will not leave them alone with repression.
Their fight is our fight – we will not accept that they will be punished as all of us would be.
