Workshop: 'How to pay for the revolution'
XminY Solidarity Fund is an international fund for political actions and campaigns, based in the Netherlands. It was founded more than 30 years ago. XminY has supported many actions of the globalisation networks and continues to do so, also during the G8 summits in St. Petersburg and Heiligendamm.
Through our work over the past years, we have also gained much experience on how action groups can organise money to support their activities. Especially when it comes to more radical actions, money is often a problem. Many groups therefore apply to XminY, but we don't have near enough money to support all (good) projects.
Moreover, it can be very useful to groups to build up their own, independent or local sources of finance. This is why we want to organise this workshop, in which we will inform about various funds, but also about other fundraising methods. After a few introductory talks, the workshop should be used to exchange ideas and good practice on the issue. If so wished, a more permanent network can be set up on 'how to finance the revolution'.
