Trinity bellwoods will be 'speech area' during Toronto G20 summit in June

Trinity Bellwoods Park, a quiet green space in the city's west end, is set to become a lot louder with its designation as the official "speech area" during the G20 summit in late June, local media reported last night. The 37-acre grassy area on Queen Street West and Gore Vale Avenue is more than three kilometres away from the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the summit's venue, suggesting security coordinators want to keep rowdy protesters as far away from the summit as possible. "I don't think we know what we're expecting," Toronto Police spokeswoman Meaghan Gray told CTV News.
