SAPPORO, April 2 KYODO Construction of the international media center for July's Group of Eight summit in Hokkaido will be completed in late May, instead of late March as initially planned, the land ministry's Hokkaido bureau said Wednesday.
The delay stems from an accident at the construction site in February and some changes in design of the facility to accommodate journalists from China and African countries along with those from the G-8 countries, according to the Hokkaido Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
