Africans from different European countries protest against the G8’s politics towards Africa
Supposedly, Africa is high up on the G8 agenda in Heiligendamm – Africa
is supposed to be helped. However, the truth is that the economic
policies of the G8 states, in particular the agricultural subsidies of
the US and EU drive African farmers into poverty and hunger.
Africans demand just and fair trade, not charity.
At the press conference Africans from different G8 states will be
present. They will be reporting about the impacts of G8 policies on the
economy, the environment, refugees, women and human rights.
Venue: *Alte Feuerwache (Old Fire Station) *
Time: Friday, 1st June 2007, 10:30 am
Following this, beginning at 12pm, the conference, “Africa Day against
the G8”, will take place.
