Registered meetings on the occasion of the G8 Summit

With immediate effect BAO Kavala will be in charge of all meetings which shall be held in the Hanseatic city of Rostock and the districts of Bad Doberan and Güstrow in the time between 25th May and 15th June 2007.

Four meetings have been registered so far:

The G8-Bündnis has applied for a demonstration in the Hanseatic city of Rostock in the time between 2nd June and 10thJune 2007, daily. They are planning several processions and demonstrations with about 100,000 participants according to the motto “G8 entmachten – Kriege verhindern”.

The Sternmarsch-Bündnis has applied for a demonstration march from different points (Sternmarsch) in June2nd, 2007. The motto of the meeting shall be “Den Protest nach Heiligendamm tragen”. It is planned that approximately 30,000 participants from Nienhagen, Kühlungsborn, Bad Doberan, Kröpelin – all marchers converging from various starting points - shall march to Heiligendamm and protest against the summit.

Greenpeace has applied for a meeting in the time between 2nd and 9thJune 2007. They would like to stage a demonstration with about 100 participants and set up a protest camp dealing with the subject change in climate and “G8-Gipfel in Heiligendamm”.

A private person has applied for a meeting according to the motto “Globalisierung: Nein Danke” in the time between 1st and 9th June in Bad Doberan. He would like to establish a “Informationspunkt” (a place to meet in order to get information) with tents, caravans and several stands at the camp so that the population itself can inform on globalization protests.

At present the directorate Rostock BAO Kavala is scrutinizing all applications concerning planned meetings.
