Construction of technical barrier on schedule

Works on constructing the technical barrier have been proceeding according to schedule.
The Metall-Zaun und Stahlbau GmbH Company commissioned by the Betrieb für Bau und Liegenschaften Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has placed the first 200 fence components over a length of 500 m since the beginning of construction on 15th January 2007. Another two kilometres of fence will follow in the coming week.

The major part of the technical barrier will run on regionally owned territory. Private land is to be affected to an extent as little as possible.

BBL personnel, supported by KAVALA Planning Cell, have long been in contact with private owners and tenants to find amicable solutions. First contracts have been concluded.
