PR Week Awards Russia’s Organizing Committee in G8

The Organizing Committee of Russia’s presidency in the G8 and Ketchum were granted prestigious award of PR Week, Interfax reported.

PR Week has granted its award – the Global Campaign of the Year - to the Organizing Committee and Ketchum Co. for arranging and holding the summit in St. Petersburg that was chaired by Russia.

En route to the summit, Ketchum and the Organizing Committee were to overcome biased attitude of reporters, brain trusts and researchers worldwide, PR Week acknowledged when granting the award.

The Ketchum teams from the United States, Canada, Britain, Belgium, Germany and France closed ranks to face the challenge and drive down the negative attitude of global mass media towards Russia by over 55 percent and to improve the positive coverage from the 7-percent level.

In the end, the PR experts attained the aim and managed to double the positive coverage in the media and to cut down the world negative appraisal by over a half, the PR Week’s jury concluded.
