They take care for arrested during and after the demo. 1 9 They can also get lawyers in worst case and make pressure in the police station to achieve that you can leave custody earlier. 1 5 Take into account that the legal team might be bugged - take care what you say. 9 6 The night before the demo, you should sleep as long as possible, to be rested and react fast and wisely. 3 4 Before you start you should take a good breakfast, because demos can be exhausting. 2 5 Also you should think seriously if you really want to take children and pets on the demo. 3 5 For clothing waterproof clothes and solid shoes are suitable - no sandals, no skirts. 1 7 Also take into accout that you might want not to be recognized as participant outside the demo - dress accordingly. 1 7 Passive weaponing is forbidden in Germany and shouldn't be found on you. 10 2 What you should take with you: 1 3 a personal id 1 3 money or card for phoning 1 3 first aid box 1 4 container for contact lenses and second pair of glasses 1 4 paper and pencil 1 4 medicine for three days 1 4 sanitary towel or tampons 1 4 Bottle to rinse eyes after having contact with irritant gas 1 3 a scarf also against irritant gas 1 3 food and drink 1 3 and the phone-number of the legal team 1 2 DO NOT TAKE: 1 3 alcohol or other drugs 1 4 weapons such as pocket knifes 1 6 no calender, adressbook, also do erase your adress book in your mobile 18 6 Create before the demonstration affinity groups of three to five persons, who take care for each other during the demonstration. 1 5 ...and who call the legal team, if one of you is taken by the police. 1 5 try to get a consense in the group of how far you want to go and when you want to leave the demonstration 1 6 And make up a name for your group. Not to shout real names on the demonstration 10 3 If you stick to all this: It is a good start. 1 3 But also the behaviour on the demo is important. 1 3 In case of police attacks and scrappings, stay calm,... 6 7 ... make chains and take people in need of protection into the middle and stay together. alone they will do you in 1 5 Beware of rumors, about what happens where. noone knows where rumors come from and who produced them. 1 3 Beware of police in plainclothes and with cameras. 2 4 Take care not to 'out' somebody as a police in plainclothes (zivi), without being quite sure about it. 1 5 Masking is forbidden in Germany and is often used as an excuse for an attack on demos. 12 4 if something goes wrong and you are arrested, shout out your name,... 1 3 ...stay calm... 6 4 ...and don't talk about anything with the police. 1 4 'Bad police': "You wont be let out, as long as you dont give a statement." 1 4 "And you don't get nothing to eat nor cigarettes. damned speak!" 1 6 'Nice police': "Come on, go out, i will do this. You have to excuse my colleague, he is in a bad mood today. 1 3 "It's really hot here. Did you already get something to drink?" 1 4 "Oh that looks bad, what have you been doing there?" 1 8 "But if you haven't done anything then you can say what happend. You would help us a lot and you would be let out earlier..." 1 6 Anna and Arthur leave their mouths shut. No matter what. Because otherwise you will only endanger you and the other participants of the demonstration. 2 4 All what you say can and will be used against you. 1 4 Try to call the legal team, if you or somebody of the affinity group is arrested. 1 3 The legal team needs if possilbe following datas: 1 4 Name Prename Date of birth Place of living 1 4 Do not give more data. So don't talk on the phone about what you have been doing. 1 5 Don't talk with other arrested about anything penally relevant.
